Kyra moved from Ontario to Alberta in the summer of 2023. She had left behind her work at a non-profit sanctuary and was trying to find a position that aligned with her interests in rescue and rehabilitation. She also works closely with an overseas dog rescue based in Iran and has in-depth experience working alongside dogs with behavioural concerns. So, when an opportunity arose to work at Yamnuska she jumped on it. The values held by Georgina, our founder, showed her this was the community she had been looking for. Despite the steep learning curve of wolfdog behaviour and relationship building, she has begun to build strong bonds based on understanding and patience with our permanent residents here. Kyra looks forward to her future here at the sanctuary, and being an intrinsic part of the community surrounding the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary.
